Conor is a co-founder of the practice with Dr. Fionnuala Loughrey in 2001, when the practice moved from the centre of Drogheda. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and moved to Drogheda in 1998, having previously worked in the UK. He is married with 5 children and is now well settled into the landscape of Drogheda and the surrounding areas. In his spare time he is a fan of many sports, although now restricting himself mainly to the golf course.
His postgraduate training in Dublin developed an interest in child health, having spent a year working in the National Children’s Hospital. He worked for 10 years in general practice in England, where he also pursued an interest in gut disorders while working with a consultant gastroenterologist. Since returning to Ireland he has completed further qualifications in Diabetes and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
For a bit of light relief, he is a closet nerd and is currently the National Co-ordinator of the GPIT (General Practice Information Technology) group of the ICGP (Irish College of General Practitioners). He is a member of the ICGP and in 2015 was awarded a Fellowship of the RCGP
